Welcome to our Stories

Rural Australians for Refugees is made up of thousands of people from all over Australia. Everyday Australians of all generations, cultural backgrounds, professions, faiths and political leanings. They all have one important thing in common however; to see Australia realise its moral responsibilities and international commitments to being a safe haven for refugees and asylum seekers.

In our Community Stories section you will meet the people behind our movement that has spanned over 20 years and thousands of kilometres who show up every day to advocate and support people seeking safety and refuge in Australia. Many of them with lived experience of being refugees themselves and many of them just passionate individuals who want to help bring about change.

We look forward to bringing you their stories.

STAY TUNED!
